Welcome to the February 2024 newsletter.
We have had lots going on this month, including our AGM and bingo. A huge well done to all those who won awards and to Colleen, who provided the excellent food. I hope you all had fun and enjoyed the evening. I will send out the minutes in a separate email.
There have been the Area 12 Intermediate Dressage and the Area 12 Winter Showjumping.
We had amazing results for the club at the Winter Showjumping. A big thank you to Quantock Riding Club for running the day so successfully in slightly soggy conditions. We started the day strong with a win for Ollie and 2nd for Tom in the junior section and Pam 5th in the senior 70cm. Ollie and Tom carried on with another 1st and 2nd in the 80cm followed by Thalia 4th, Connor 5th, PB 6th in the junior and Gemma 8th in the senior section. The team came 2nd and 5th. 90cm was another win and qualification for Rochelle in the senior section followed by 3rd for Phoebe, 5th for Thalia in the junior section. Amelia 6th and Ellla 9th in the seniors finishing 2nd as a team. 100cm brought another win for Rochelle and 2nd qualification for national. PB 7th, Amelia 9th and Ella 13th. The team finished 2nd.
We have had several jump training sessions which have been thoroughly enjoyed by members. Julie Chapman took the first session at Stockland Lovell, she is a new instructor for the club and we received lots of positive feedback. This morning Andrew Lovell instructed groups using our XC Jump 4 Joy fences at Primmore Farm. We are not filling our jump clinics which means that we cannot run as many, please utilise these sessions as they are great fun and informative, they really help with progression. Next weekend there is jump training at Stockland Lovell with Jayne Smart, please book yourself on using the link below. We are taking the Puissance Wall to Stockland, get your practice in before we use this for competitions.
