Amazing Results at Showjumping Qualifier

Saturday 10th February TDRC sent a novice team , a junior intermediate individual, and  2 senior intermediate individuals to the area 12 winter championships qualifiers ran by Quantock Riding club held at KSEC. The weather was pretty miserable but the results were far from!!

First to ride were the senior novice team, riders were Emily Eltringham, Elle Scears, Nicky Cook and Gemma Gilbert. Nicky had an unfortunate pole in the first round, Gemma and Emily went clear and with Elle as the last to ride she knew she really had to go clear and there was no way her horse Eddie was stopping at any of the fences so with some fantastic riding from the whole team we were the only club to go forward with a score of 0!!

Second rounds came and Gemma had a unlucky pole at the first fence but recovered well from a trip from Conner and carried on for a lovely round and with Emily, Elle and Nicky all going clear it meant we finished on a score of 0!! We were the only team to finish on 0 and could not be beaten!! This meant we had qualified for national championships which are held at Arena UK on the 14th and 15th April. This is a fantastic result as TDRC haven’t been represented at national championships for a few years!
Ella Weeks was the next to ride as the junior intermediate rider. Ella was competing against one other person so the competition was close! Ella was hoping to just stay on as her horse has been excited and she did and had a double clear and qualified for the intermediate national championships held at Bury farm on 27th-29th April. This is another fantastic result so massive congratulations to Ella.
Emma Jane Williams rode in the 90cm intermediate as an individual and had a unlucky pole in each round  and Hannah Rose Franks rode in the 100cm intermediate As an individual. Hannah was unlucky with 1 pole down but had a strong finish with her second round clear.

We are looking for people to represent the club across all disciplines,  no competition experience necessary, come and have some fun with the teams. Next competition is FOTH  Sunday 11th March at Pontispool, we need to have entries in by Friday so get in touch with Emma-Jane Williams if you are keen to join in. ejw1982@hotmail.co.uk

So Super G and O’Shin went to attempt Elementary RC Qualifiers in the Intermediate TauntonDistrict RidingClub team yesterday at KSEC! Not gonna lie, very kind judge who ended up giving George a 63% test and Osh a 64.3%!! Very proud of them both and very proud of those scores as it’s the first time I’ve done a test of this level with either of them. Thank you Dezi for organising the teams and thank you KSEC for a great day of strong competition! Osh ended up 4th and G came 5th with the team ending up as 2nd Qualifiers and 5th out of all of the teams entered!
